Purpose of the article This paper aims to investigate the effect of personalised repositioning and a turning and repositioning system on nurses' adherence to recommended repositioning frequencies.

Summary For the best results in preventing pressure ulcers, systematic repositioning should be performed according to the patient's individual needs. There is currently no clinical decision-making tool available, and only a small percentage of hospitals follow recommendations for preventing pressure ulcers. Not enough study has been done on the topic of turning and repositioning systems now on the market.

Evaluation of the content In the experimental groups, where patients were cared for in bed, adherence to repositioning frequencies increased dramatically (94.6% vs. 69% and 84.9% vs. 71.4%). Patients who were turned and repositioned were more likely to be in the ideal position (30-45 tilted side-lying position) (69.6% vs. 34.6%). The incidence of pressure ulcers and incontinence-related dermatitis was low. Patients and nurses alike expressed gratitude for the change. The expenses of bed repositioning labor were higher in the comparison group.

Reflection on the usefulness of the source This research was the first to examine whether or not a repositioning assistance, along with individualized repositioning, may improve nurses' adherence to repositioning protocols. Positive findings for the treatments were found, but the results also highlighted the value of continued communication and training.
