To learn how to read and analyze a scientific paper and prepare a summary of the paper.
Purpose
To learn how to read and analyze a scientific paper and prepare a summary of the paper.
Requirements
Each group selects a scientific paper from a suggested list to read (the suggested list will be provided by your discipline tutor). Each group prepares a summary of the chosen paper after reading and discussion. Your summary should address the following aspects:
The rationale of the research (15 Points)
The research questions (15 Points)
The proposed hypothesis/hypotheses (10 Points)
The method/s used to test the hypothesis/es (10 Points)
The main results (15 Points)
The new findings (15 Points)
The limitation/s of the research and future research direction/s (10 Points)
The references (10 Points)
Group summary for the paper: One A4 pages; use Times New Roman, font 12 with standard margins (2.5 cm from each side) and single line spacing with 6-point gap between paragraphs. Submit to Canvas as a PDF document. Materials presented beyond 1 page will not be marked.
Assessment weighting: Group 100 Points (20% of final grade)
The summary template is as follows.
