Guidelines

Identify an organisation of relevance and a current issue affecting that organisation.

Analyse the stakeholders relevant to the issue and develop a specific stakeholder engagement plan for two key stakeholders.

You can use any of the stakeholder analysis methods discussed in Module 2, or you can utilise another validated method. Based on your analysis, identify two key stakeholders and develop specific action plans for engaging these two stakeholders.

Note that both your analysis method and action plans must be based on evidence and logical reasoning. Evidence should come from academic theory and research or industry best practices. You should clearly justify your choices, citing relevant sources. Logical reasoning reflects a thoughtful and purposeful application of theory and best practices. Do not simply quote an industry standard you should clearly explain the relevant elements (paraphrase and summarise) and explain their relevance to your organisational context and stakeholders.

Also note that while it is acceptable to draw on industry sources and practices, you will need to include academic sources to further bolster your reasoning.

Submission format

This assignment should be written in a neat, professional and engaging manner. Use coherent, well- supported and logical arguments. Use direct quotes sparingly paraphrase and summarise in your own words, citing the original source. Note that the main text of the assignment should be approximately 1500 words (10%), regardless of group size.

Stakeholder engagement plans can take many formats, but please use standard fonts (Times New Roman, Calibri, Arial) and readable font sizes (10-point or larger) throughout, including in any graphics that you create. Refer to examples on the LMS, or examples you have seen in your own work.* You may format your stakeholder engagement plan in the manner that you think best fits your organisational context and analysis.

Regardless of format, your final assignment should include the following information:

Context/assumed knowledge provide any additional background context or assumed knowledge that the marker needs to understand your document. This may include knowledge or information that someone highly familiar with the industry, organisation, or context would already know. Also state if you are using a company pseudonym or if any information used in the document is considered confidential or from internal sources (e.g., one group member is managing director). This section is not marked.

Introduction/background briefly describe the organisation and the issue, including the context and background motivating the stakeholder engagement.

Stakeholder analysis provide a summary of your stakeholder analysis, including their relationship to your organisation and/or project. Your analysis should be supported by research and evidence.

Stakeholder graphic provide a visual summary (e.g. graph, figure, table) of your overall stakeholder analysis. You should reference and explain the key insights from your graphic in the main text of your document.

Action plans clearly and specifically describe how you will engage the two stakeholders over a specific time period (e.g. six months). Your action plan should be supported by research and Select a timeframe for engagement that is suitable for the issue.

References all sources (academic and non-academic) should be cited in-text and the full reference information should be included at the end of your report. SeeReferencing guidelinesbelow.
