Public transportation is a critical component in supporting the growth and sustainability of a city centre.Because of the rapid socio-economic development taking place in this area, public transportation services in Klang Valley have become a major transportation system in Malaysia. In fact, one of the most important aspects of urban management is the reduction of reliance on motor vehicles .

Every year, 1.17 million people are killed in road accidents, with 70% of the deaths occurring in developing countries. Pedestrians are responsible for 65 percent of deaths, with children accounting for 35 percent of those killed. According to estimates, 23–34 million people are injured in road accidents worldwide each year. Aside from chronic diseases such as stroke, lung infections, respiratory difficulties, and heart disease, fatal accidents are among the leading causes of death in the world.

Malaysia has seen a 70% increase in fatal accidents. Based on fatal accident data from 2013 to 2017, this study was carried out to investigate the rate of fatal road accidents in the states of Selangor and Perlis. The data were analysed quantitatively, taking into account the previous research conducted by the researchers. According to the data, the state of Selangor had the highest accident rate, while the state of Perlis had the lowest accident rate. Factors influencing the rate of road accidents in both states are being investigated, among other things.

These national initiatives aim to transform Malaysia into a fully developed and industrialised nation by sustaining annual growth of 7%. According to the 2010 census, the Greater Kuala Lumpur/Klang Valley region has a population of 6.3 million people. In comparison to 2000, the region had an additional 1.7 million residents. The most rapid growth has occurred in districts such as Sepang, Petaling Jaya, and Putrajaya to the south and west of Kuala Lumpur. Recent trends have highlighted the increasing concentration of employment in major cities, which has implications for the selection of appropriate modes of transportation to serve these citie
