The portfolio is a demonstration of your design thinking, your innovative and creative skills, and the processes you took throughout designing an innovative new product. It is not expected to be in a strict report format, but must show methods, justification, results, discussion for each step your team took, as well as contain relevant references, logical arguments, and demonstrate effective written and graphical communication. Overall, the portfolio should clearly capture your teams process through this subject.

This will be completed in teams of 4-6 and will be guided through the lectures and workshops.

A template structure has been provided on the LMS (see “Portfolio Template” and “Portfolio Workshop Guide” under the “Portfolio – 30%” tab). You may alter this template but should discuss this with your tutor.

Works completed throughout the semester should be stored in an appropriate folder structure (see below) and referenced by the portfolio. These folders will both capture the works completed, but also serve as the repository for the data behind your design.
