Practical Experience

This document is designed to guide you in documenting your practical experience for the MEM31322 qualification. To have your skills formally recognised in the national system, assessors need to verify that you possess the skills and knowledge required to meet industry standards. This involves participating in a thorough and comprehensive process that covers all relevant units or qualifications for which you seek recognition.

Assessment can take various forms, and being well-prepared can save you time and make the recognition process smoother and less stressful.

Review the skills in the workplace section for each unit of competency.

Select either YES or No in the I have performed these tasks column and record your responses in the space provided.

Be prepared to talk about your job roles and your work history and how you meet the criteria listed.

Discuss any current and previous positions held along with any businesses or facilities you have worked in.

Any section that has not been completed will require some sort of workplace evidence to support your application for RPL.

You can speak with your assessor about other ways you can show your skills in your industry. These could be letters from employers, records of your professional development sessions, employers or clients in related industries or government agencies, acknowledgements, workplace forms (as long as they dont show client details) or other relevant documents.

Additional documentation such as the Third Party Reports and Referee Testimonials, must be supplied as part of your application. These will need to be completed by a supervisor or a third party to provide feedback to Outsource Institute of Technology about your workplace performance, skills and knowledge.

Please remember, this is your opportunity to explain your experience against each of the units of competency listed below. Candidates should use the comments column to explain how they have addressed each of the bullet points listed under the "Skills Undertaken in the Workplace" section. Please refer to the provided example for guidance.

Date: Candidates Name: Unit code and Title Skills undertaken in the workplace I have performed these tasks.

Whilst working at Company XYZ I was responsible for organising the implementation of their new client management system, this system was implemented to more accurately capture their clients information which allowed us to provide more efficient services to our customer base. (See print screen of database attached as workplace evidence)

Once implemented I was responsible for managing the information entered into the system, this process involved running weekly error reports (See copy of report as workplace evidence attached). I also was responsible for manually making changes to these errors.

Every 6 months I provided a report to senior management of how the system was working and recommended any changes that needed to occur. One example was that we were not collecting sufficient client details so I created a new customer contact form to cover more fields for our database. (see copy of the form I created attached as workplace evidence)
