Week12 and13

Your task

You must participate in a group in-class activity and write a 500-word summary based on your collaborative discussions during week 12.

AssessmentDescription

The in-class activity aims to foster students ability to forecast operational problems related to customer service and quality control in the accommodation industry. In addition, thisassessment will assess students further ability to propose solutions to various operational problems in accommodation management.

Assessment Instructions

During week 11, your workshop facilitator will form the class into groups of three to four members (no more). Class attendance is mandatory so everyone can get acquainted with their group members.

During week 12, you and your group must participate in a 90-minute in-class activity. Each member must equally contribute to the discussion of the questions outlined in a hypothetical problem, which will be distributed to all groups at the start of the activity. The remainder of the class time will be dedicated to the groups pitch, i.e., a structured presentation of your groups discussion to the rest of the classsix (6) minutes per group (maximum).

During week 13, individually, you are required to submit a 500-word summary in which you are to comprehensively outline the contribution you have made during the in-class activity and your stance on the viability of proposed solutions by demonstrating an understanding and ability to apply relevant theories and concepts covered in weeks 1 to 11.

EthicalUseofGenerativeArtificialIntelligence

Theassessmenttasks inthis subjectrequireyoutodemonstrateyourlearning, andwhile the use of generative artificial intelligence is not prohibited at Kaplan Business School, it is important to understand that information generated by GenAI tools, such as ChatGPT, Copilot, and DALL-E, may be unreliable, inaccurate, and incorrect.

Therefore, you must ensure you use these tools cautiously and only as an aid to help youfindrelevantsourcesof information or forman understandingofa concept or theory. In doing so, you must acknowledge GenAI use via appropriate in-text citation and referencing.

AssessmentSubmission

The summary file must be submitted as a Word document to avoid any technical issues that may occur from an incorrect file format upload. For example, uploaded files with a virus will not be considered as a legitimate submission. MyKBS will notify you if there is an issue with the submitted file. In this case, you must contact your workshop facilitator via email and provide a brief description of the problem and a screenshot of the MyKBS error message. You are also encouraged to submit your work well before the deadline to avoid any possible delay involving any technical difficulties.
