Use the following link to access the case of Haidilao: https://hbsp.harvard.edu/tu/b9a2ca10
Read the case study and focus on the incentives-related aspects of the case.
Use the following three section headings to structure your report. A report introduction and conclusion also needs to be included within the word limit.
A. Case study outline
Describe the case study. Explain the facts of the case and organisational context, including:
What is unique about Haidilao, especially in terms of their employee benefits and incentives?
Who is involved in the case and what are their roles in managing incentives in relation to the needs and motivations of Haidilao employees?
B. Case study analysis
Draw on at least two needs and motivation theories to discuss the following:
What are the benefits and limitations/challenges of how Haidilao manages its incentives for employees?
C. Case study solution and implementation
What potential future challenges do you see for Haidilao in relation to how they manage their benefits and incentives for employees?
Explain and elaborate in relation to relevant theories.
Identify two solutions to these future challenges, using theory and examples from other real-life organisations to justify your decision. In your rationale think about:
Why are these solutions most appropriate for Haidilao?
How will these solutions be implemented?
What method will be used to evaluate the solutions? And when should these evaluations be implemented.
You are expected to go beyond articles in the reading list and research relevant articles to formulate a broader and more evidence-based evaluation in discussing the questions above, and to integrate this research into your written review.
We recommend structuring your report according to the three (A, B, & C) subheadings above - refer to the Marking rubric.
Word length: 1800 words total length (excluding reference list).
