Assignment Task

Introduction
Beyond site characterisation and development of a conceptual site model, remediation practitioners are required to assess the feasibility of managing contamination sites with various available remediation technologies. The Cooperative Research Centre for Contamination Assessment and Remediation of the Environment (CRC CARE) Guideline for Remediation Options Assessment describes an approach to this task, including a rudimentary list of remediation technologies. The Federal Remediation Technology Roundtable (FRTR) also provides guidance on remediation options assessment and a more comprehensive list of available remediation technologies. Consulting firms generally develop their own in-house approach to assessing remediation options using in-house knowledge and available resources. Ultimately a recommendation is made to a client and this needs to be justified if challenged.

Appropriate: Does the submission adhere to requirements? Has the student understood what was expected of them in this assignment? Is the information presented relevant to the task?
