ASSESSMENT 1 SIMULATION AND REFLECTION
This is an individual assignment in which you choose three module topics that interest you and submit a 500-word summary and reflection of one of the weekly essential readings (those listed in the Program Calendar at the end of the unit outline).
Students should submit three such papers (one for each module of their choice), over the trimester. Each paper will be due by 10am on the day before the class for that week.
Each paper will receive a grading out of 15 and qualitative feedback. Of the three papers, the marks for the highest 2 will count towards the 30% for this assessment task. The mark for the lowest paper will not count towards the mark. (If students choose to only submit two summary papers, then both marks will count towards the assessment mark.)
Each paper for this assessment should be fully referenced but need only refer to the chosen reading.
The summary should include:
An overview of the chosen reading
What you take to be the most important points from the reading
Two or three sentences of your own reflections and reaction to it
Two or three questions you have about the reading (these will be used for discussion in the class but will only be shared by the facilitator anonymously).
Submission will be via Turnitin.
Assessments submitted for this unit must be within 10% of the stated word count. Any words over the word count plus 10% will not be read or marked.
