This assessment has been designed to assist you in further articulating your innovative startup/venture idea from Assessment 2 in an authentic and work-based way by preparing a seed funding proposal.
You can continue with the innovative venture that you identified in Assessment 2 or identify a new innovative venture.
Attached are the Startup budgeting templates (84 KB) that you can utilise or adapt for your assessment. Note, it is not compulsory to use the templates, you are welcome to create your own template.
Task
Provide an introduction. (150 words)
Short introduction on innovative idea Wagging Tail.
How I came up with the idea?
Present a SWOT analysis for your venture. (600 words)
Expand on SWOT.
Identify one competitor of your venture and prepare a competitor profile for this competitor. (400 words)
Show 4 competitors
Pick 1 closes/match idea to yours
How the said competitor can impact your business/idea
Present a Lean Marketing Canvas for your venture, draw on findings from steps 2 and 3. (500 words)
Example:
Prepare a budget for your proposed venture including a breakeven and cost-volume-profit analysis. (400 words)
Explain how much initial seed funding you are seeking (300 words):
If you are seeking equity funding explain to your potential investor what they will receive in return for their investment and over what timeframe.
If you are seeking debt funding explain to your potential investor how long you expect to take to repay their investment and at what rate of return.
Provide a conclusion (150 words)
