Prior to the interview - using the Case Study information below you must complete the necessary research to be able to support Mohameds needs.
Mohamed is a 65-year-old man who is experiencing moderate anxiety and depression. Mohamed was made redundant earlier in the year and was evicted from his apartment as he failed to pay the rent. Mohamed states he has no friends here but did have some relatives that he had managed to stay with every now and then. However, Mohamed stated that one of the family members (a close cousin) accused him of stealing food, beat him around the head, told him to leave and never come back.
Mohamed has now been living and sleeping rough on the streets for the last 2 weeks and he has come to your organisation seeking help and support. Mohamed has said that his depression is so much worse, and he just does not know what to do anymore.

Ben is a 16-year-old male who was diagnosed with schizophrenia one year ago. Ben presents at your organisation with his mother, Amy, who said she had to leave as she had four other children to take care of. Ben has high support needs and admits to using cannabis daily to self-medicate on top of his prescribed medication.
Ben is not participating in education or recreational activities and describes that he often feels lonely and helpless. Ben states that he would like to participate in more social activities and hopes to study in the future. Ben said that he knows his mother is feeling overwhelmed and that his stepdad doesnt help at all. Ben said that he got into a fight with his stepdad last week and that they havent spoken since. Ben has presented with bruises on his face but when you asked, he said they were nothing and that he didnt want to talk about it.

Alison is a 30-year-old woman who has a dual diagnosis of Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder and Alcohol Dependence. Alison is also a person living with a physical disability and uses a wheelchair for mobility. Alison presents at your organisation seeking support after allegedly being assaulted by a stranger in her local park. Alison has a history of living in institutional care homes, of which she has a fear of having to return, although she has lived independently in the community for the past 4 years. Alison feels that she needs to further develop her independent living skills and would like to meet people but doesnt feel very safe at the moment or where to start with this.
