Assessment Description and Instructions
This unit aims at transforming the mindsets of students from coursework study to performing professional, research-based tasks in the specialist disciplinary area of their course. The unit requires students to use the knowledge they gained in the BUS600/ ICT600 Research Methodology unit and undertake a research project in their area of specialty.
In Assessment 1 students are required to prepare and submit their specified applied research/project proposal. A good example of how to write a good proposal is uploaded on Moodle. However, not least, the research/project proposal should include the following structure:

Name of supervisor and The project title
Introduction
Explain the nature of project/study to be undertaken.
Describe the background and previous work (be brief)
Literature review (not least this will be continued in Assessment 2)
Provide a context for the research.
Justify why it is important to undertake.
In this proposal you are required to give at least a few citations of authentic articles (literature) from Google scholar citation in the topic and discipline area.
Show where the research fits into the existing body of knowledge and or theory(ies) in the discipline area.
Statement of the problem and or contexts for the study
Describe the context of the study.
Purpose of the study.
Research questions and/or hypotheses based on the methodology selected PSS or ISS or CSS or Triangulation (mixed method).
Methodology
Describe the research methodology you have chosen. You can choose only one of the following:
Positive Social Science (PSS) methodology; or
Interpretive social science (ISS) methodology; or
Critical Social Science (CSS) methodology; or
Triangulation (missed method)
Based on the selection of methodology above, describe your methods of data collection and analyses you intend to apply.
Limitations and delimitations at this stage you can mention a few potential weaknesses that you are foreseeing.

Indicate how your research will refine, revise, or extend exiting knowledge in the area under investigation. (be brief at this stage)
