BLAR 13040 Building Lifecycle Maintenance Assignment

Question 1 (15%)

• Why would a building owner consider having a building inspection conducted on a recently acquired assets?
• Discuss the potential benefits to the future management of the building and the life cycle aspects.

Question 2 (10%)

It is important to realise that each type of building (warehouse vs hospital etc.) have individual needs and demands upon them, and so the performance and life expectancy of plant, equipment, building fabric and fit-out will vary.

• Discuss the types of issues that are unique for three (3) different buildings that need to be considered before commencing the inspection process. 

Question 3 (10%)

• Why should building owners who have large portfolios of older building stock be concerned about building pathology? 
• Provide five examples or case studies to support your answer.
