Option B
As a result of COVID lockdowns, supply issues and staffing issues the Local Government Authority Association has agreed a nationwide single tender process for the supply of playground equipment and exercise equipment.
This is a massive tender that will keep your company in work for at least 10 years.
The LGAA has specified that the equipment must be demonstrably safe for every potential user age group.
It must be innovative and engaging for all.
The LGAA has a zero harm policy and an extremely strong safety culture.
You are part of the tender team and due to the volume of information required the tender sections have been allocate to team members based on their skills.
Your tasks are:
- Create a marketing brochureof four A4pages in lengthwhich celebrates and extenuates all the market leading features of both your playground equipment and exercise equipment.
- Create an instruction manual of at least eight A4 pageswhich shows users how they should use the machines.
The councils will use pages from the instructions to make instructional signage for the equipment.
This document will be included in the tender to demonstrate what will be delivered if successful, to that end it only needs to address a representative sample of the product-line. - Create an incident and accident investigation procedure including a "just culture" and confidential reporting systemfor the manufacturing facilities and for each local council. This should be at least 5 pages.
In both cases
- All documents produced should be to a very high standard.
- They should include graphics, tables, pictures, columns, use of MS styles, a cover page and where applicable a table of contents.
- Any references must be cited.
- Remember - create means make from scratch, youmust notuse a template.
Some hints
- These activities will require significant internet research to gather the required information and graphics.
- You must showcase all the features of MS Word as a word processor (not simply a typewriter).
- You are also selling the organisation to the public on opt. A and the LGAA (and ultimately the public) in opt. B.
- Your narrator would strongly recommend printing the last draft and asking friends, family or willing strangers to cast an eye over it.
Your outlines (your plan).
In each box below write a detailed outline of each of the 3 complex documents to be created.
Determine:
- the intended audience of the document
- the purpose of the document
- the required format, style and structure for the document
- how this needs to be communicated to the audience
- information categories and a logical sequence for ordering the information.
