For this assignment, you will assume the role of the manager of a carwash process while exploring the major concepts of process analysis. You need to improve the performance of the carwash and, for this purpose, you are given a budget. You must allocate the budget across three stationsvacuum, machine wash and hand drywith an aim of maximising utilisation and improving profitability. You have two challenges:
- In the first challenge, the customer arrival rate and demand is constant.
- The second challenge will include both demand and process variability to reflect the realities of actual business operations
Simulation helps you to unlock the relationship between optimizing a process and improving fiancial performance.
In this assignment, you play a role of a car wash operating manager.
Time fame: 9:00AM to 5:00 PM
Customer arrival peak demand: 12:00-1:00PM
Your job is to allocate the entire budget of $3 million to the vaccum, the machine wash, or the hand dry stations in order to maximise efficiency and thereby improve overall profitability.
