Here are my top tips:
- Plan your time (time management)
- Look at the assignment guidance in modules..
- You need to write an essay, so no subheadings.
- Put your student ID number on your essay.
- Look at the slides from last week and this week which tell you about which weeks content relate to each learning outcome.
- You must read - look for credible literature such as peer reviewed journal articles and academic books.
- Make lots of notes and do not forget to write down where you got information from in your notes.
- Writing a draft essay
- Use 1.5 spacing.
- Do not use contractions (don't should be do not etc).
- Write in paragraphs (PEEL - Point, Evidence. evaluate and link to next paragraph).
- You must write critically so each paragraph will need no less than 2 citations (or more).
- Once you have a first draft, read it out aloud and check for logical flow, punctuation and grammar Make adjustments to your draft to fine tune your work
