This assessment is to be completed individually. In this assessment, you will design and deliver a recommended artefact model to the client in the form of a presentation.

Please note: You will be required to use the same organisation for all assessments in this subject.

Assessment Description

This assessment is designed to assess your ability to present research findings related to a client's IT problem.

It is recommended to attend Weeks 08 to 10 workshops as they will be dedicated to presentation guidelines.

This assessment aims to achieve the following subject learning outcomes:

Assessment Instructions

Students must conduct research externally and included references to produce a well referenced assessment. You should use at least ten (10) sources of information and reference these in accordance with any standard referencing Style. These may include websites, social media sites, industry reports, census data, journal articles, and newspaper articles. These references should be presented as in-text citations and a referencing list at the end of your slides (not included in the word limit). Wikipedia and other popular sites are not to be used.

Part A: An in-class presentation. Submit your presentation slides via MyKBS by the deadline in Week 10. The uploaded file will be used for your in-class presentation.

Part B: A reflection on your own presentation, along with feedback on a peer's presentation you choose to critique based on the in-class presentation that you attended in week 11 / week 12. Submit Part B through MyKBS by the deadline in Week 13.

Part A:

  1. You will deliver an in-class presentation during week 11 or 12 as instructed by your You should have made a submission of your slides before the presentation. The presentation should include the following topics:

    a) Client Understanding:

    1. Familiarise yourself with the client's IT-based requirements and organisational context, considering the client's industry-specific challenges.

    b) Multi-disciplinary IT Solutions:

  1. Recommend multi-disciplinary IT solutions that critically analyse and address the client's complex problems.

2. Integrate advanced concepts, theories, and frameworks from different disciplines to develop innovative and effective solutions.

c) Artefact Model Design:

  1. Design an artefact model (e.g., presentation slides, interactive prototype, visual demonstration) that effectively communicates the recommended model to the client.

2. Ensure the artefact model is visually appealing, well-structured, and tailored to address the specific concerns of the client.

d) Presentation Delivery:

  1. Prepare a compelling presentation based on the artefact model design to deliver to the client.

e) Professionalism and Communication:

  1. Demonstrate professionalism, resilience, and effective communication skills throughout the assessment, especially when interacting with the client.

Part B:

You are required to submit comments on your own presentation as well as a critique on another student's presentation.

  1. Your feedback/comments should include the following:

    1. Reflection on your own presentation: Provide a self-assessment of your performance, including what went well and areas for improvement. Reflect on your preparation, delivery, clarity of content, and how effectively you engaged your audience. Consider aspects like your use of visuals, pacing, and responses to questions.

    2. Critiques or praise for another student's presentation: Offer constructive feedback on a peer's presentation, highlighting strengths such as clarity, organization, or creativity. Additionally, suggest areas for improvement, such as content depth, presentation style, or the effectiveness of visual aids. Be specific in your feedback, ensuring it is helpful and respectful. Ensure to clearly indicate the peer (other student) name, their topic of presentation before providing your comments.
