- submit a completed cover sheet with your work
- avoid sharing your answers with other students.
Case Study Scenario
You are working for a company that want you to demonstrate your skills by creating 2 different rooms as 3D Digital Environment. (Using Maya, Blender, Cinema 4D or After Effects) Photograph 2 rooms of your home and using the 3D assets provided on Moodle to create 2 x 3D Environments or create your own assets.
Task 1 Determine Production, Reference Materials and Software
- You are to build a previsualisation representation (wireframe) of your 2 x selected environments in relation to the reference materials obtained from Assessment 2 and using the software features available in the software that you have chosen to complete this assessment.
- Submit to required personnel for approval and feedback.
- Build realistic detailed environment models x 2 and progressively refine them until they meet design requirements. Do research to ensure that you meet the desired outcome.
- Check the integrity of your models and ensure that the spatial relationship meets design requirements.
- Apply texture and ensure that it coordinates according to design requirements and the original photograph taken.
- Create and incorporate Storyboards according to design requirements and original photograph taken.
- Apply lighting and shaders and rigging according to design requirements and the original photograph taken.
- Experiment with different lighting rigs and select a rig that meets design requirements and the original photograph taken.
- Ensure that you adopt safe ergonomic practices when using screens and keyboards for extended periods of time. You can use this application to help balance your time ensuring you take a break every now and then.
- Continuously refine all aspects of 3D digital environments until required creative effect is achieved ensuring that you view it in rendering view saving it in different angles (save the rendered 3D Environment Accordingly e.g. Front, Left Front, Right Front, Back, Top, Bottom etc.,
- Submit your 2 x environments to required personnel (trainer) for feedback on whether production requirements have been met
- Make final adjustments as required by the feedback obtained.
- Upload Project File
Task 2 Backup Project and Participate in Project Evaluation
- Make back-up copies of files and save and store animations using appropriate output file formats and standard naming conventions ensure that you name the project accordingly.
- Participate in your projects evaluations and contribute ideas and suggestions about ways to improve your future project
