Loose Parts:
Stickers
Glitter glue
Notebook
Chalks
Pencil colors
Colorful feathers.
Observations:
As I walk into the park, I notice a group of children playing near the swings and enjoying their Easter breaks. We are three students named Simran, Ritik and myself. As soon we start to setup the popup, children came and start to use variety of loose parts such as colors, stickers, glitter glue, notebook and to create different artworks in different ways.
Surprises:
One thing that surprises me is how the children are using the materials in unexpected ways. For example, one child draws a different flowers and patterns with different colors on the notebook. While another is using the funny stickers and paste on the notebook.
Unexpected Events:
One unexpected event that happened was when a girl accidentally spilled glitter glue on another sisters clothes. The child was initially upset but then they both started laughing and came up with a game where they pretended to be "glitter monsters."
What worked well?
It seems that the children are particularly drawn to the colors and notebook. They are using these materials in creative ways and are enjoying the sensory experience of playing with them. Additionally, the children seem to be enjoying the freedom to explore and create with the loose parts without any specific instructions.
Improvements:
To attract more children to the park and encourage their engagement with the loose parts, it may be helpful to create visual displays that highlight the available materials and activities. Additionally, introducing new materials such as cardboards, scissors and more colors etc could also increase interest and participation.
Issues:
One issue that arose was that some of the children were accidentally dropping or losing the smaller pieces of glitter and feathers. To address this, it may be helpful to provide larger containers or trays for the materials and encourage the children to be mindful of their surroundings while playing.

Observations:
There are not many children in the park today. There is a designated area with a variety of loose parts for children to play with, including rope, baskets, stickers, rolls, colors, glitters, cardboard, and sketches.
The children are using the loose parts in a variety of ways, including creating art, building structures, and pretending to play drum using baskets and sticks.
One child surprises me with his creativity. He used some glitters and paste on the box using glue. He said he is very connected to technology. I am going to attach a picture as well.
Another child used chalk on the ground and write follow my channel named Brown Boys on Youtube. He also surprised me by using baskets as a drum and play with sticks on it. Also, other use glitter to draw beautiful flowers on the cardboard.
His little sister shows a little creativity as well. She roll up the rope around the shoe box and come to me and say gift. I am really impressed with her creativity.
I did not expect to see them working together to use a good use of loose parts and build a large swing using baskets and rope.
The loose parts seemed to work well in encouraging creative play and imagination among the children. They are enjoying participating and engaging in each activity.
To attract more children to the area, we could consider adding new types of loose parts or changing the arrangement to make it more inviting.
If something isn't working, it could be due to a lack of instruction or explanation on how to use the materials, or the materials themselves not being appealing or engaging enough for the children.
