Individual Assignment Culminating Performance
You must address parts A & B below.
Discuss the extent to which newer trade theories such as monopolistic competition and classical or traditional trade theories such as comparative advantage can be used to explain Irish international trade patterns. Data in the form of tables/figures/graphs should be presented to support your discussion. You should use data spanning (approximately) the last 10 years at a sectoral/industry level.
NOTE: The level of industry/sectoral disaggregation is your choice. You are not required to refer to every possible trade theory but use those which you judge to be most relevant to your discussion. All data sources should be clearly cited.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development recognizes international trade as an important means to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Using data and evidence, assess the contribution of international trade to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) since 2015. In your answer, you should identify and explain the relevance of goals and indicators used in your assessment.

The deadline for completion of the assignment is Wednesday 13th December 2023 at 5pm. It must be submitted via Turnitin on CANVAS. The submission facility will be made available at least one week before your report is due.

The assignment should be double spaced font size 12 with a maximum length of 3,000 words (excluding the tables of data, reference list, appendix).

The cover page and reference sections are not included in the word count.
Penalties (for late submission of Course/Project Work etc.):Where work is submitted up to and including 7 days late, 10% of the total marks available shall be deducted from the mark achieved. Where work is submitted up to and including 14 days late, 20% of the total marks available shall be deducted from the mark achieved. Work submitted 15 days late or more shall be assigned a mark of zero.
