Assessment Task 1: Digital Technology
Date issued: 10/02/2023
Due date: 09/03/2023
Task Description: Creating a business
Key concept: Development
An act or process of growth, progress, or evolution, sometimes through iterative improvements
Related Concepts:
Form - concerns the overall shape and configuration of a product. It relates to aesthetics, shape, colour and texture
Resources relate to the supply of commodity. Information, materials, and equipment
Global Contexts: Scientific and Technical Innovation
Systems, models, methods: products, processes and solutions
Statement of inquiry: Scientific innovation develops new resources and forms of technology.
Inquiry Questions:
Factual: What resources are needed in digital design?
Conceptual: Can digital products be sustainable? What new forms of technology have been invented?
Debatable: Is digital technology always used in a positive way?
Nature of Assessment Task
GOAL: Your goal is to design a digital business enterprise of your choice
ROLE You are a digital designer
AUDIENCE Your chosen target market group
SITUATION - You have been selected to create a new business enterprise. Your new business will focus on sustainability and how it can make a positive impact on the environment
PRODUCT - In order to fulfil the requirements of the Design process journal, students must:
- Complete journal tasks which show evidence of inquiry, research, developing ideas and final solution.
- In class presentation
STANDARD FOR SUCCESS - You will be assessed on the criterions of the MYP Design Process (Criterion A, B, C)
