Dietary Debate Assessment
In this assessment, you are required to record a debate opening statement, supporting or opposing a designated dietary regimen.
Topics.Each student will be assigned two dietary regimens and will be assigned a position (pro or con) for each of these regimens.
Format.The debate Opening statement will be recorded in a video presentation and uploaded to Moodle. All statements will be presented online for the class and the topics will be open for student voting. Importantly, student voting will have no bearing on the marks of the assessment.
Opening statements need to include between 3-5 arguments to support the students position. The arguments should address all aspects related to the dietary regimen, for example- effects of metabolism, environmental implications, ease of adhering to this regimen, economic implications, etc.
Time.maximum 3 min (Each video)
References.All arguments need to be backed up by facts and /or examples. References can be displayed at the end of the video presentation. The presentation of the references will not be included in the time limit of the presentation.

Students are required to submit
Two video presentations of debate opening statements
Two documents outlining the supporting arguments. These can be presented in bullet-point format. The content of the document will not be marked.
