Develop an Arts Education practice journal including making and responding in the Art form/s. Write an individual reflection on own professional learning from the experience.
First and foremost is that the assessment must be professionally presented, adhere to academic conventions and use APA 7th Eds referencing. 8 references (GA5, GA10).
The Practice Journal you are required to add this as an appendix. This may be in word form or may include photographs and needs to be annotated to align with your reflection.
Part 2. The reflection
Use headings. Introduction including which arts areas you are focused on and which year level 5 you are reflecting on. LO1 Describe how the choice of task
- is appropriate for Year 5 and Curriculum areas that could be linked to it and explains why. Include ACARA codes and support your decisions with relevant reference to the literature.
- considers the inter-related content strands of Making and Responding; Band + Content Descriptions and Achievement Standards; and General Capabilities and Cross-Curricular Priorities.
- Then describe how the process and products (Practice Journal, could be applied in a Year 5 classroom.
- Demonstrate your understanding of how children learn in the Arts and of a range of age-appropriate teaching strategies, including the use of ICT.
- Choose one form of student diversity and explain how you would engage the learner in authentic Arts practice and develop their skills and conceptual understanding. (LO2, LO3, LO4). Support your decisions with relevant literature.
Part 3. Analyses what you have learned from this process: (LO1, LO2, LO3, LO4).
- about yourself as Artist [dance/ drama/ music/ media/ visual arts practitioner]; and
- articulates how this will help you in your Arts teaching practice. Identifies one
strength, and one area which you will continue to develop to build your skills and confidence.
