Tasks of the assignment
- Following the instructions of the Simscape, build the power network aforementioned. Simulate and record the voltages, voltage angles, currents, and current angles on the buses, and analyze the power flow of the power network. (10 %)
- Simulate the power network respectively with single-phase to ground fault, line to line fault, double line to ground fault, and three-phase to ground fault, on Bus 3 with low impedance fault. Comment on the voltages and currents of the power network correspondingly.(20 %)
- Simulate the power network respectively with single-phase to ground fault, line to line fault, double line to ground fault, and three-phase to ground fault, on Bus 3 with a high impedance fault. Comment on the voltages and currents of the power network correspondingly.(20 %)
- Suppose a three-phase to ground fault occurs at 0.1s on Bus (3). Design circuit breakers and overcurrent relay to clear the fault. Comment on the simulated power network with and without overcurrent protection. (with a high impedance fault) (20 %)
- Using Frequency-Domain analysis (FT and Wavelet), illustrate the frequency variation o f t h e fault current signal at Bus-3 for a single-phase to ground fault, and High impedance fault, respectively. Explaining with drawing the changes that appeared using the techniques used in the different cases.
