Evaluate learners' analytical skills in exploring the importance of the anatomy and physiology of the human body and its relation to diseases.
SYNOPSIS:
A recent study by Tan and Venketasubramanian (2022) affirmed that stroke or cerebrovascular disease is Malaysia's third leading cause of death. Several studies on the outcome of hospital admissions for acute stroke have shown that 36.2% were discharged independently while 53.1% had functional dependence (Chen et al., 2019). Therefore, nurses need to understand and have excellent knowledge on the anatomy and physiology of the human body in order to manage and facilitate recovery for a stroke patient.
Discuss the mechanism of the skeletal and muscular systems as well as elaborate on the importance of early ambulatory exercise to a stroke patient from the anatomy and physiology perspective.
