INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS:
This Assessment is weighted towards 100% of summative assessment and is compulsory.
Word Limit for the assessment is 3,000 words, excluding 100 words abstract
A 100-word abstract must be presented.
Your submission (answer) will be subjected to an anti-plagiarism software test.
The Assessment will test your skill and knowledge expected to be acquired during the term.
In the Assessment, single source plagiarism should not be more than 2% and overall plagiarism should not be more than 15%.
All citations and references must be in the Harvard referencing format.
Compile all the answers in single document and submit. The submission should be made through link, provided to you by the Controller of Examinations.
Wherever necessary/ appropriate, students may include diagrams and tables to support their answers.
The wordcount will not include the tables, diagrams, abstract, title page, reference list and annexures.
Students are advised to proofread the content before final submission.
Files names should be written as Module code_Enrolment Number_Name
Please see the grading rubric at the end of this assessment brief for further details of the criteria against which you will be assessed.
If the submission exceeds beyond 10% of the stipulated word limit it will only not be marked. Anything over word limit +10% will not be graded.
Research Methodology Assessment for DBA research scholars
Title: Research methodologyin management: Current practices, trends, challenges, use of technology and implications for futureapplied research
Objective: The assessment aims to evaluate the students' understanding of the basics of research methodology by having them produce a research article. This will help them demonstrate their knowledge in a structured and academically rigorous format.
Assessment Format: Students are required to write a research article that includes the following sections:
Title
Abstract
Introduction
Literature Review
Case/s real-life cases
Results/Findings
Discussion
Conclusion
References
Assessment Guidelines:
1. Title
The title should be concise, informative, and reflective of the research topic.
2. Abstract
Provide a summary of the research article in 150-250 words.
Include the research problem, methodology, key findings, and conclusion.
3. Introduction
Introduce the research problem or question.
Provide background information and context.
State the research objectives and the significance of the study.
4. Literature Review
Summarize relevant existing research on the topic.
Identify gaps in the literature that your research aims to fill.
Highlight key theories, models, or frameworks used in previous studies.
5. Case/s
Describe and analyse the cases using qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods.
Explain the critical aspects of the case/s.
Discuss the research strategy and new techniques used in the case/s.
Outline the findings which may be relevant to your proposed research.
6. Results/Findings
Present the key findings of your research.
Use tables, graphs, or charts to illustrate the results, if applicable.
Ensure the results are clear and concise.
7. Discussion
Interpret the findings in relation to the research objectives and literature review.
Discuss any unexpected results and potential reasons for these findings.
Explain the implications of the results for theory, practice, and future research.
8. Conclusion
Summarize the main findings and their significance.
Reflect on the research objectives and whether they were achieved.
Suggest areas for future research.
9. References
List all sources cited in the article in a consistent citation style (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago).
Ensure all references are relevant and up-to-date.
Submission Requirements:
The research article should be 3000 words in length.
Use a standard academic font (e.g., Times New Roman, 12 pt).
Double-spaced with 1-inch margins on all sides.
Include a cover page with the title, students name, and date of submission.
Submit the article in Word format via the online course portal by the specified deadline.

Feedback:
Detailed feedback will be provided on each section of the research article.
Feedback will focus on strengths, areas for improvement, and suggestions for future research endeavors.
This structured approach will help students practice the fundamentals of research methodology and prepare them for more advanced research tasks in their DBA program.
YOUR SUBMISSION SHOULD INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
The submission should be in report format. Your analysis should be succinct, and the use of infographics and tables is encouraged.
It should show:
critical awareness in relation to the identification and application of relevant models/ frameworks/theories, analysis, evaluation, synthesis and original insights
appropriate academic language.
appropriate support from secondary literature using appropriate Harvard referencing.
Academic Models/ theories/ concepts to support theoretical / conceptual framework may be used.
