PURPOSE

The purpose of this assessment task is to:

  • Explore the current knowledge and evaluate the literature on the given topic.
  • Synthesise the models and findings from different authors.
  • Analysis and evaluation.
  • Identify the gaps that needs to explore further.
  • This assessment will also build students' literature review skills and reinforce the importance of evidence-based practice.

The Unit Learning Outcomes assessed are:

  • LO1: Articulate person-centred care to a range of common conditions across primary, secondary and tertiary specialty areas, including the pathophysiology, assessment, diagnosis and the, management of these conditions across the lifespan;
  • LO2: Critique the evidence and models of nursing practice for specialty areas informing nursing care and intraprofessional and interprofessional collaboration for individuals, family and communities;
  • LO3: Integrate evidence-based knowledge and give predict legal and ethical considerations when making clinical decision in relation to person-centred care scenarios across the lifespan with a range of related to selected specialty areas.

CRITERIA

The following levels of criteria will be used to grade this assessment task:

  • Criterion 1: Introduction- You need to provide background and context of the literature review topic, scope and the statement of purpose
  • Criterion 2: Literature review- Explore the current knowledge and evaluate the literature on the given topic. Synthesise the models and findings from different authors. Analysis and evaluation (add your own interpretation of the findings). Also, Identify the gaps that needs to explore/research further.
  • Criterion 3: Presentation and academic writing- Written in a very accessible and readable style. Content is organised logically within the sections. Correct spelling and grammar and the word count is within the limit
  • Criterion 4: Referencing- Use APA 7th ed. as the reference tool. Use a minimum of 10 current and scholarly literature
  • Criterion 5: Conclusion- Restate the purpose, summary of main findings, implications and areas for further research
