For this assessment, you are required to select an area of clinical practice from your workplace that is guided by a local clinical practice guideline or policy document. You will evaluate the quality and authority of this document using the AGREE II Instrument and current literature. Please organise your evaluation under the following headings
- Introduction: Briefly introduce the guideline or document and state the aim of your paper (a copy of the document is not required).
- Critique: Utilise the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation II (AGREE II) Instrument to assess the quality and authority of the chosen clinical guideline or policy document.
- Discussion: Evaluate whether the recommendations of the clinical guideline or policy document are supported by evidence-based literature. This will involve searching for primary research papers on the topic.
- Search Strategy: Describe the search strategy used to find relevant journals. Include details on the databases searched, search terms and/or keywords, number of articles located, inclusion and exclusion criteria, the final number of articles available, and the rationale for selecting the five research articles.
- Literature Support: Using the selected five primary research articles, discuss whether the clinical guideline or policy recommendations are supported by the literature.
- Conclusion: Summarise your findings and provide recommendations based on your analysis.
