Topic:
The impact of Training and Development on Employee Performance in Ministry of HRM at Saudi Arabia.
Explaining:
Employees are the main engine of any organization; the achievements of the organization depend on the performance of employees. Hence, many firms realize the importance of investing in training and development in order to improving employee performance. it is important to ensure that employees are trained and developed at all the level in order to perform their set objective or goals to be achieved successfully.
Reviewed studies show that neither explored the relationship between HRM practices and employee performance in the public sector in Saudi Arabia nor studied training and development practices solely. So this reveals the research gap to be filled by this proposed research.
In addition, I am working in public sector more than ten years, through my observation I found that training and development practice are not or very less implemented in public organizations of Saudi Arabia although it is very important for organizations to implement this practice to achieve organization objectives and success. The aim of this study is studying the impact of training and development on employee performance.
Three reasons why I am interesting the title and support with articles:
First reason:
Organizations which look to have the competitive advantage realized the significant of training in enhancing the employees performance. Previous study provides evidence about the significant impact of training programs on both organization and employees performance. The impact of training programs returns on increasing productivity, learning efficiency and investment (Colarelli & Montei, 1996).
Second reason:
Training and development were found to lead to improved employee performance. Training and development result in higher performance. The Previous study revealed some findings like; for example, the average employee strongly believes that training helps to create job satisfaction among employees and improves skills, knowledge, and abilities (Karim, Choudhury, and Latif, 2019).
Third Reason:
Training and development were found to have a significant positive impact on employees' performance. Training and development should be there in the culture of the organization (Akhter, Siddique and Alam,2013).
The research contribution:
Most the studies in same topic findings a positive and significant relationship between the two HRM practices and employees' performance levels. in contrast, some studies demonstrate the lack of differences s in employee performance levels with adopting different HRM practices. These findings reveal a research gap that this research can fill. However, all the studies were conducted in the private sector, revealing a literature gap to be filled by this proposed study that focuses on the public sector in Saudi Arabia. Reviewed studies also show that neither explored the relationship between HRM and employee performance in the public sector nor studied training and development practice solely.
Further, it contributes to provide recommendations for organizations about how to improve employee performancethrough good training and development programs.
The findings in this study will help managers to determine the best combination of training and development to improve employee performance by developing effective strategies.
