Project: Integration of internationally educated healthcare professionals: A comparative Analysis of Canada, Australia and New Zealand
Problem statement: Canada has a shortage of health professionals (nurses, doctors, pharmacists, etc.); however, the integration of internationally educated health professionals (IEHPs) (newcomers to Canada or individuals who are already in the country) is not smooth and comprehensive, which means we do not utilize this resource appropriately, and the experience of IEHPs is not always positive.
Our approach for project
Conduct an environmental scan to gather information about all initiatives in Australia and New Zealand to strengthen the transition of IEHPs.
Immigration initiatives
Health system initiatives
Education system initiatives
Diversity initiatives
Legislative initiatives (it could be any legislation)
Research initiatives
Context:
To be systematic, we will gather info for each Canadian province and for each health occupation, with attention to documenting if the initiatives adopted have been evaluated or not (how, indicators, results, etc.).
Once we gather all the info, we will better understand how to collate it in an article (e.g., Snapshot of the situation in Canada; Australia and New Zealand vs. Canada; Canada approaches vs. Australia and New Zealand etc.).
Environmental scan and literature review of best practices to integrate internationally educated healthcare providers in the healthcare system.
What are best practices? Do we have evidence from Australia and New Zealand?
What kind of interventions are adopted?
What Need to do?
- Write Definition of problem statement and introduction
- Write Literature review ( used at least 12 different articles include all 3 countries) at least 10 pages long enough include all important details
- APA reference style with intext citation
