Summative Assessment 2: Poster
What |
To create an academic poster of the self-directed research conducted by the student. |
Why |
Academic posters are used in research at all levels to summarise and showcase the researcher's ideas. They are used by all disciplines - sciences, arts, humanities, social sciences and mathematics. They are often used at conferences and talks to generate interest in the research and to encourage discussion. It is not like an academic essay as it aims to explain your research project briefly and concisely. The best Academic Posters are those which effectively summarise the important parts of the research (the methods, findings and conclusions), are easy to read and understand, and are visually appealing. |
