In this assignment, you will synthesis your learning from weeks 1-4 of the topic and apply it to practice using the Occupational Questionnaire (OQ) as a tool. The marking rubric is available on FLO.
Process
- Read through and apply the Guide to Using the OQ.
- Choose someone to conduct the Occupational Questionnaire (OQ) with.
- Ask them to complete the OQ.
- Score their OQ using the Guide to Using the OQ
- Arrange a time for a follow-up interview (phone or in person) to gain additional information or clarify their responses
- Complete the OQ Score Sheet
- Complete the OQ Summary of Results,/li>
- Write the report
Template for Report
1. Introduction (approx. 200 words). This includes an introduction to
- the report- 2 lines introducing the OQ and its purpose and how you have used it
- the person you completed the OQ with. An occupational perspective which includes their age, gender, other relevant person factors, occupational history, current occupational status, roles, key social relationships & environments both living & working.
2. Results (approx. 400 words)
- Complete the OQ Summary of Results and copy into your assignment
- This will be based on your scoring and analysis of the OQ and needs to provide enough detail to reflect a clear sense of this individual’s time use (see example of completed OQ summary of results).
3. Discussion (approx. 1200 words)
Choose and discuss 3 key contextual factors that influence this person’s volition, time use and occupational engagement.
Contextual factors might include:
- environmental factors
- person factors
- any other relevant contextual factors
- refer to slide 16 factors influencing Occupational balance, health and well being
Comment on how these 3 factors impact on this person’s occupational balance and hence their health, wellbeing and life satisfaction. Support your discussion with evidence and links to the theories and concepts we have been covering in class. You will need to specifically discuss occupational balance. You will need to choose and review literature to support your discussion. Stronger assignments will link to evidence specifically related to the issues that came up for your person. This may be in the areas of their occupation, their roles (eg mother/ worker) or around their issues (eg sleep/ physical injury/ age) or condition/ disability/ circumstances.
