Your task

Individually, you are required to record a 10-minute webinar aimed at the Executive Team of a healthcare organization of your choice from within your state that proposes the adaptation of a new health technology into the organization.

Assessment Description

In this individual assessment, you will be given an opportunity to critically analyse the opportunities and challenges of embracing new health technology in healthcare settings now and into the future by analyzing the business environment of healthcare management in Australia and the increasing need to deliver better value to all stakeholders. You will need to demonstrate an understanding of the policy framework and the system dynamics driving change in the healthcare sector.

Assessment Instructions

Health technology is increasingly playing a major role in the delivery of value to all stakeholders in the healthcare system. The adaptation of health technology aims to deliver higher quality care more efficiently and with better patient experience and outcomes.

After reviewing the operation of the healthcare organization you have selected to work on, you are required to identify and propose a health technology that the organization could adapt now and into the future to deliver a higher quality of care, is patient-centred and can impact operational efficiency and effectiveness. The technology can be used either in a clinical setting or in a health administration setting.

Health technology could be from anywhere in the world. The healthcare organization has to be from within your state.

The webinar should present to the audience the followings:

  1. Key operational areas within the organization that need or could be improved with the adaptation of new health technology and why.,/li>
  2. Identify a range of health technologies that could be adapted in one or more of these key operational areas.
  3. From the range of health technologies identified in “2” recommend one health technology that you would like to put forward to the Executive Team of your selected organization to invest in and adapt, now and into the future, providing examples of where and how that technology has been used in similar settings in other organisations.
  4. Identify the value/benefits to a range of stakeholders with a particular focus on the consumer (patient), the healthcare worker, and the hospital manager that could be realised from the recommended health technology adaptation. Stakeholder perspective offered to support your case.
  5. Discuss any ethical issues that are likely to arise due to the new health technology being implemented and provide some suggestions on how they could be overcome.

You must use at least seven (7) sources of information and reference these in accordance with the Kaplan Harvard Referencing Style. These may include websites, industry reports, census data, journal articles, government policies and frameworks, and newspaper articles. These references should be presented as in-text citations and a reference list at the end of your written analysis (not included in the word limit).
