Critically assess the relationship between people engaging with media content about crime (e.g. podcasts, TV shows, news, social media etc.) and lived experiences of crime (e.g. as victims, offenders, law enforcement, etc.). What type of relationship might be described?


When discussing the type of relationship, consider some of the following questions to guide your analysis:



  • How does engagement with media about crime affect criminal justice policy, OR lived experiences of crime, OR perceptions of crime?
