Your task

Write a short reflective essay of 1500 words (+/-20%) on Professional Learning Societies and Professional Organisations for biomedical engineers and their role in enhancing clinical practise and biomedical engineers' career prospects. In your essay you need to discuss on the following topics:

• Introduction to the problem. In your discussion, you need to explain why there are Learning Societies and Professional Organisations and how they help biomedical engineers in the real world.
• What does IPEM do and how it can help me in my future career in biomedical engineering? CPD scheme.
• British Learning Societies and Professional Organisations in the area of biomedical engineering, e.g., British Medical Ultrasound Society, British Nuclear Medicine Society, PMG, IET, IMechE, etc.
• Professional Organisations for biomedical engineers in US, Europe, and Far East. - In your discussion you need to comment on professional organisations of specialists in clinical engineering, rehabilitation engineering, medical robotics, prosthetics and orthotics, etc. For example, you can comment on IEEE, RESNA, AAATE (Association for the Advancement of Assistive Technology in Europe), ISB (International Society of Biomechanics), ICORR consortium, RESJA (Rehabilitation Engineering Society of Japan), RESKO (Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of Korea), etc.
