Specifc Instructions

In this individual assessment you will complete some career development activities, and you will then critically analyse and reect on your own career development plans.

Part A: Complete the Career and Study Plan Activity by Sunday, 13 August.

Part B: Complete the Learning LinkedIn Activity by Sunday, 20 August.

Part C: Write an essay that includes the following information:

1. Describe your career plans for the [rst year (12 months) immediately following graduation from your current postgraduate program. Identify and briey describe a speci[c role or ideal job that you would like to hold 12 months after you graduate.
2. Analyze 4 - 5 key competencies that someone in your ideal position must possess. Include technical or job-specifc skills and at least two employability (non-technical) skills. Reect on your current level of achievement compared to the level of achievement needed in your ideal role, identifying both current strengths and areas in which you need to improve.
3. Identify and describe 2 - 3 speci[c developmental activities or learning/professional experiences that will help you to achieve your 12-month career goal. Clearly identify the milestones or indicators of success.

Note that both your analysis and developmental activities must be based on evidence and logical reasoning. Evidence should come from academic theory and research. You should clearly justify your choices, citing relevant sources. Logical reasoning reects a thoughtful and purposeful application of theory and best practices. Do not simply quote an academic article or other source you should clearly explain the relevant elements (paraphrase and summarise) and explain their relevance to your speci[c context. Also note that while it is acceptable to draw on industry sources and "best practices", you must include academic sources to support your reasoning.
