This assessment task asks students to consider the following health challenge and address the points listed below:
Health Challenge: Bacterial wound infection post shoulder arthroscopy.
If you arent familiar with this health challenge, split it up and look it up. Use this guide to understand the given health challenge further.
Bacteria- the type of microorganism causing the infection. (Microorganisms include bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites, but for this task, it is bacteria). It is important to know this, as the pharmacological management of infections will differ depending on the microorganism.
Infection- Invasion of a pathogenic microorganism causing symptoms (Craft et al., 2023).
Bacterial wound infection- A wound infection that occurred due to an invasion by the microorganism bacteria.Post shoulder arthroscopy- The infection has occurred after the shoulder arthroscopy.
Arthroscopy- A surgical procedure to examine the interior surfaces of a joint. This can be a diagnostic procedure sometimes or if there is joint damage, then a surgical repair is performed.
This assessment task does not ask you to define anything. This means that we expect that you know or can find out the elements of the task and can demonstrate your knowledge by explaining them. Please try not to provide definitions in your introduction or throughout your paper, as this does not demonstrate the level of knowledge expected and will use up valuable words.
It is strongly recommended that subheadings are used to organise the paper. This is a great idea for a number of reasons, including that it allows you to clearly show the marker that you have worked to structure your work, and that you have addressed each and every part of the task.
The task asks you to:

This means that you do not select which ones you would like to talk about, you need to explain the pathophysiological processes for each of the following abnormal findings. A pass answer would explain them all individually, and an HD answer would identify the interconnecting processes that result in more than a single assessment finding. Axillary body temperature of 39 degrees Celsius.

Again, here we need to explain the examples we use. It is essential that we accompany our nursing care with current references, to demonstrate that it is evidence-based nursing care. Then EXPLAIN this intervention_______________ would involve doing ____ and ____ (Reference).

When we are talking about nursing care, this can be any action or intervention that falls within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse. Anything we can do that will prevent or manage the condition and heal the wound. The closer you link your nursing care to preventing/managing the health challenge, the better your grade for this part!

This part asks you to identify 2 examples of collaborative care first. This means you need to clearly name it. E.g. An example of collaborative care that could be used to address this health challenge is a _________
The next part of the question asks you to explain the example. So here we need to explain how the identified multidisciplinary team member would help to prevent and/or manage bacterial wound infection. E.g. Smith & Robbs (2021) identified that. would support the management of bacterial wound infection by providing ..
This assessment item must be presented as a scholarly paperThis means that you must write in third person, no use of the terms I, me, my, we, our, you etc. You also need to construct full sentences and paragraphs, no dot points. You can use headings to separate your work but these should be limited to only a couple.

This is your perfect opportunity to summarise how you have addressed the assessment question!

Provide credible references both in-text, and the reference list. The in-text references (Smith et al., 2021) contribute to the word count, but your Reference List at the end of the work does not. Generally, every idea you present in the work needs to be supported by a reference. If all the ideas are presented consecutively and are from the same source, then you could put the reference at the end of the paragraph or the end of that section. Everything we say has to be backed up by a source of information, always acknowledge the source of information. Use prescribed textbooks and other scholarly literature like peer-reviewed journals.
A minimum of 10 sources should be integrated to support the assessment. This refers to 10 different sources. You would expect that each source is used more than once, usually. So you need 10 different sources listed in the Reference List, but we would expect many more than 10 episodes of in-text referencing. These can be text books, journal articles and other high-quality sources of information. The references must be within 5 years for textbooks and within 7-10 years for journal articles.

Leave 2 cm margins and double line space your work;
Use 12pt font, Arial, Calibri or Times New Roman;
Number all pages;
No use of colour. That is for a word document, use black font unless otherwise directed;
Insert your student name and number in header or footer of every page of every assessment;
Include a title page that displays the subject name and code, title of the assessment task, due date, lecturers name, your name, student number and your word count (excluding references).
Write in the third person, avoid the use of I, we, our etc. Subheadings can be used to organise your paper;
The reference list is begun on a new page;
Minimise the use of direct quotes and paraphrase instead;
Where a source is quoted, please use quotation marks, and include the page number in the in-text reference.
