Assessment Learning Outcome


The aim of this assessment is to assess students knowledge and understanding acquired by engaging with the units weekly content.


Details


Students are required to access two (2) online quizzes on vUWS to consolidate, enhance and evaluate learning in this subject. Questions in these quizzes will be drawn from the content covered in modules and on-line readings.The quizzes will be open for 30 minutes over the weekly time period of access to encourage students to work through material if unfamiliar.Feedback on answers is provided to encourage formative learning.


Quiz 1 starts week 2 Monday 13th March, 2023 and ends week 3 Monday 20th March, 2023 at 9am.Quiz 1 will assess Module 1.


Quiz 2 starts week 4 Monday 27th March, 2023 and ends week 5 Monday 3rd April, 2023 at 9am.Quiz 2 will assess Module 2 and 3.



  • Each quiz will be open for a seven (7) day period. Students can attempt each quiz once at any time during the seven (7)-day availability period.

  • You are strongly encouraged to attempt the assessment early in the assessment period to avoid or resolve any unforeseen difficulties.

  • Quizzes are to be accessed via the unit vUWS site under Assessment Zone.

  • Each quiz will consist of 30 randomly selected multiple-choice questions. There is only one correct answer for each question.


Assessment Instructions



  1. You have 30 minutes to complete your online quiz assessment, unless otherwise specified.

  2. You must complete the assessment in one complete sitting.

  3. Once you begin the quiz, the quiz timer is activated as soon as you start.

  4. After 30 minutes the quiz will automatically close and only the questions attempted up to that time will be recorded.


Academic Integrity


By opening and commencing the online quiz assessment students acknowledge and agree to the following:



  • Copying another persons answer or improperly obtaining answers to questions in the assessment is not permitted (please see Student Misconduct Rule).

  • Communicating during the assessment with another person is not permitted (please see Student Misconduct Rule).

  • Making a copy/photograph of any part of the assessment (including questions and/or answers) in not permitted (please see Student Misconduct Rule).

  • By taking this assessment the student agrees to the conditions outlined for the assessment and are bound by University Policies governing academic integrity.


Technical difficulties during the assessment/quiz



  • If youexperience technical problems whilst attempting the on-line quiz, pleasecontactthe IT?ServiceDesk on (02) 98525111 or emailitservicedesk@westernsydney.edu.au

  • IMPORTANT - You will need to lodge an IT ticket for any technical difficulties during your assessment. This will constitute evidence that you had genuine technical difficulties.

  • Other evidence such as NBN network issues, or notification of an internet outage, can also be documented as part of your communication to the Subject Coordinator. Documentation can include screenshots of your technical error message, along with the IT ticket that has been lodged.

  • Students must then contact the Subject Coordinators on the Subject email address: NURS3017@westernsydney.edu.au with evidence of technical difficultiesduring the assessment period.The Subject Coordinators will assess your evidence of technical difficulties and provide you with further instructions.

  • No technical difficulties will be considered after the quiz has closed.


For all other problems, please follow Western Sydney University procedures to apply for Disruption to Studies (DTS)



  • If your application is accepted a supplementary quiz assessment will be offered in a week to be notified by the Subject Coordinator.

  • All quiz assessments must be attempted. If a student does notattemptone of the quizzes, the student will attract an FNS grade.
