Purpose: The purpose of this assessment task is for you to use the teaching and learning cycle to observe, interpret, plan and evaluate children's learning using current curricula, making decisions about resources, teaching strategies, arrangement of the environment and planning for assessment and evaluation. The assessment will also enable you to practice the important skills of giving and receiving collegial feedback.
Task Details:Your portfolio will consist of ?ve tasks.
Task 1: Observations and Interpretations
Complete two observations on two children (1 indoor and 1 outdoor on each child = 4 observations in total) using an observation template which you have created based upon your readings in this course. Your observations must be interpreted and analysed making appropriate links to the EYLF / VEYLDF outcomes.
Task 2: Developmental Summary Provide a brief summary of each child's learning and development (using EYLF/VEYLDF outcomes), interests and dispositions
Task 3: Learning Experience PlanPlan a learning experience for each child (total of two plans) based on your observations (Task 1) and developmental summary (Task 2). Use the guidelines provided and the coursework you have completed to create a planning template. 
Task 4: Collegial FeedbackUpload one of your learning experience plans to the appropriate moodle forum. Read one of the learning experience plans that one of your colleagues has uploaded and provide some professional, constructive collegial feedback. Your colleague's learning experience and your collegial feedback will be included in your portfolio as Task 4.
Task 5: Re?ection on learning and teaching  cycleRe?ect on the teaching and learning cycle (observation, interpretation (assessment), planning, implementation, assessment/evaluation) Please note that you have only completed the ?rst three stages, however you can re?ect on the process and propose what you would focus on for implementation and how you would evaluate the learning experience - what would you be looking for in terms of children's participation and response to the experience?
