OMGT1074 The Design A Warehouse PortfolioAssignment

TASK DETAIL

This warehouse design project is a group# (each group comprising of six persons, subject to size of cohort) assignment. A warehouse layout is provided (see below) and the assignment task is to analyze and redesign the layout to optimize storage and order fulfillment lead time for onward distribution to retail outlets and/or consumers. A range of products to be managed by Groups will be allocated to each group during lectorials in Week One of the new Semester. Upon receiving the allocated product range to be managed by your warehouse/DC, the Groups may commence generating the operating assumptions and stock keeping units (SKUs) list to be used in the Groups' designs and may be shown to your tutor for informal feedback during lectorials to facilitate the design process.

Groups will be formed during lectorials in WEEK 1 of the semester. Students who did not attend Week 1 and/or Week 2 lectorials will have to secure membership of formed groups themselves. Each group should only consist of six (6) students.
