Aims:
Given the current state of the local construction industry with many incidents, accidents, and fatalities, it is pertinent to raise the guarani os industry:construction companies are ready to ensure safety with particular reference to the application of the RGR model In order to set up the following objectives:
1. Understand the relevance of the RGR model for managing construction safety
2. How 'readiness may be assessed before and during the construction process at the project and activity level.
3. Establish what tools and techniques could be used (including readinessmatrices) Inn such assessments.
Method:
In order to investigate the above objectives an extensive literature survey will be undertaken to understand current practice and potential application conceptually. The literature survey will also investigate how safety is being managed at present. With the understanding so gained, discussions willia managers to establish organizational readiness for safety and how it could be assessed including tools and techniques that can be used for this conduction the discussions, steps will e taken to ensure ethics approval is obtained.
Outcomes:It is expected that them will be greater clarity on how the RGR (readiness. growth, rest) model could be used for managing safety including bow assessed prior to commencing work and during construction.
