It will be held on Friday 28th July, 2022; 6:00 pm 8:10 pm AEST

The exam will be held online via Canvas.

The exam will be invigilated through zoom. Please see a separate document will online exam requirements for students.

The exam will be made available under the formal examination module, and under assessments.

The exam duration will be 2 hours and will have the following parts:

PART A (25 MCQs)25 MARKS

PART B (5 Short Answer Questions)25 MARKS

Total marks (maximum)50 MARKS

The exam contains both practical and theory questions.

Topics covered in weeks 1 11 are examinable.

Once you start the exam, you need to complete it in one sitting. The exam will be automatically submitted after the time expires.

A sample exam paper, practice questions, and revision slides will be uploaded on canvas for revision.

Zoom Invigilated Online Examinations for Online/Weblearn students.

Dear Students,

Your final examination for this course will be online and zoom invigilated. The exam is timed and you will complete the exam at the date and time advised by your course coordinator. The exam will include 10 minutes reading time.

Students are reminded that in accordance with the University Adverse Circumstances Policy the following are not considered an acceptable basis for an adverse circumstances application:

You must send an email to the course coordinator before the end of the last week of the teaching term if you are unable to meet the equipment requirements of the zoom invigilated online examination.

This online zoom invigilated examination is covered by the University Code of Conduct and the Student Conduct Rules which require students to complete their own assessment tasks including examinations. You will be provided with a zoom link for the examination on Canvas under the Assignment tab.

As the exam is open book you may access your e-text and class notes during the exam. You MUST NOT use any other applications. You MUST NOT use Excel or other software to undertake calculations. You MUST NOT cut and paste from documents. These activities will constitute academic misconduct. The invigilator can ask you to share your screen at any time during the exam.

You must join the zoom via Canvas 30 minutes prior to the examination and await instructions from the invigilator.

If you are late, you will not be given additional time to complete the examination. Please note the invigilator may ask you to do the following:

Hold your University of Newcastle Student ID card and face the webcam. For online/weblearn students your passport or other form of identification with a photograph on it can be used as a form of identification.

Move your webcam to show the workspace that is being used for the examination.

You can communicate with the zoom invigilator via the chat, only if necessary. You can use the chat function to communicate with the invigilator in case of any technical issues or problems with the exam.

You must have the camera on and the microphone off (muted at all times during the examination). If you turn your camera off during the exam this will constitute academic misconduct.

The entire zoom invigilated online examination will be recorded and can be reviewed by the School Academic Integrity Officer (SACO) if needed.

You should ensure you have attended to any comfort or personal needs (e.g., toilet breaks) prior to start of the examination. However, for any urgent needs during the examination, you must seek permission from the invigilator via the chat (direct only to the invigilator).

Essential Equipment Requirements:

You must organise a private space for the duration of the online zoom invigilated examination. It is important that you are not disrupted during the examination.

You must ensure you have the following equipment in excellent working condition and tested prior to the examination.

A PC or laptop with a single (one) screen.Multiple screens are not permitted.

Ensure computer settings are set to English as answers in the examination should be only written in English.

A stable internet connection.

You should have sufficient paper and writing tools such as pens, pencils, and a non-programmable calculator.
