MAR001-1 Principles of Marketing

You should be prepared to answer the following questions for Part B of your exam:

1. Tell us about the marketplace for the proposed app paying particular attention to any gaps. (400 words)
2. Explain what you consider to be the best approach to segmenting the market. Dont forget to include your reasoning. (400 words)
3. Tell us about your ideal customer. (600 words)
4. Explain your proposals for the product element of the app. Include your proposed brand name (and tagline if you are suggesting one). Dont forget to explain why you think your proposals will work. (400 words)
5. Explain your pricing strategy. If you are using pricing tactics explain why. (400 words)
6. Explain your marketing communications proposals and why they will work. (800 words)
7. Provide your marketing communications Gantt chart based on the time frame given in the exam. You can upload a screenshot as a JPG, GIF or PNG, or a Word or Excel file. (No word limit. You will need to be ready to work on this in the exam)

Things to note:

• You will be submitting via WISE flow using the second link (Part B). You will be prompted to enter an answer for each of these headings.
• You can using headings and bullet points to reduce your overall word count.
• No graphics are required other than the Gantt chart.
• To pass you MUST reference. Provide in-text references for all sources. There is an additional box on the exam paper for end-of-text references.
• Dont forget that there are additional marks for the use of supporting theories.
• Please note that Place is not included because for your app the place is the app stores. There is nothing that you need to write for Place.
• You do not need to submit your preparation materials.
