Project Title Mouth care importance in ventilated patients

Project Aim

Updating staff knowledge in developing mouthcare protocol.

Early identification of oral problems and good nursing care will help to minimise plaques and VAP(Ventilator Associated Pneumonia) for both tracheotomy and intubated patient

Ethical or Governance Issues Expectations -All staff nurses will be aware about proving mouth care importance to minimise VAP and maintain oral health.

-Bringdowm nurses fear about aspiration, patients discomfort and endotracheal dislodgement while doing proper mouthcare in a stander protocol.

Resource Issues (Time/Costs/Access/Clinical Restrictions etc.) Lack of sufficient time to provide mouth care every 2_4 th hourly with excessive workload.

Shortage of nurses in an unexpected overcrowding in an unit
