Assessment overview The objective of this assessment is to assess your knowledge as would be required to ensure information and communications technology (ICT) products and systems match the strategic direction of the organisation.

It is important that you keep a copy of all electronic and hardcopy assessments submitted to TAFE and complete the assessment declaration when submitting the assessment.

Assessment Task 2: Project PortfolioInformation for students
In this task, you are required to demonstrate your skills and knowledge by working through a number of activities and completing and submitting a project portfolio.
You will need access to:
a suitable place to complete activities that replicates a business environment including a meeting space and computer and internet access
ICTSAD508 Simulation Pack or information relevant to the business as per the information in the assessment tasks
tools, equipment, materials and industry standard software packages relevant to the business solution
your learning resources and other information for reference
Project Portfolio template.
Ensure that you:
review the advice to students regarding responding to written tasks in the IT Works Student User Guide
comply with the due date for assessment which your assessor will provide
adhere with your RTOs submission guidelines
answer all questions completely and correctly
submit work which is original and, where necessary, properly referenced
submit a completed cover sheet with your work
avoid sharing your answers with other students.

This project requires you to develop technical and related requirements that will enable business solutions to be implemented in an organisation.
This project can be based on the case study business in the ICT simulation pack or you may like to base this on your own business, or a business you are currently working for or are familiar with. It is important that you can access information about the business including business solutions required, as well as their business and customer relationship model and procedures. Speak to your assessor to get approval if you want to base this on your own business or one you work for.
You will be collecting evidence for this unit in a Project Portfolio. The steps you need to take are outlined below.
Planning
Make sure you are familiar with the business you are basing this assessment on and have read through the necessary background information. For the case study business, this is all of the documents included in the ICT simulation pack. If its your own business or a business where you are working or are familiar with, its important at this step that you have your business or case study approved by your assessor.
Complete Page 4 of your Project Portfolio for this unit.
Read through the requirements of Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of your Project Portfolio.
Business solution requirements
You are now to complete Section 1 of your Project Portfolio.
When you complete Section 1, you need to report on the business solution requirements by:
Identifying and describing the requirements of the business, their business model and the business solutions required.
Identifying and describing legislation, standards and procedures that need to be considered for the business solutions.
Identifying and analysing the hardware, software and network requirements relevant to the business solutions.
Determining and documenting the technical specifications relevant to the business solutions.
Establishing and reporting on interface requirements.
Determining security requirements/protocols.
Complete Section 1 of your Project Portfolio.
Submit your Portfolio to your assessor for approval.
Impact statement
You are now to complete Section 2 of your Project Portfolio.
When you complete Section 2, you need to develop an impact statement that considers and reports on:
the processes that need to be changed based on the business solutions
the impact of changes on the business value and supply chain.
Complete Section 2 of your Project Portfolio.
Submit your Portfolio to your assessor for approval.
Action Plan
You are now to complete Section 3 of your Project Portfolio.
When you complete Section 3, you need to complete an action plan for implementation that outlines:
Timelines for implementation of the business solutions
Resources to be allocated
Performance benchmarks
Costs of the business solutions
Training needs and skill gaps that need to be addressed
Testing that will occur.
Complete Section 3 of your Project Portfolio.
Submit your Portfolio to your assessor for approval.
Finalisation
You are now to complete Section 4 of your Project Portfolio where you will finalise your business solution.
You will need to submit seek feedback from your assessor which you will then need to action prior to obtaining final sign off.
Complete Section 4 of your Project Portfolio.
Submit your Portfolio to your assessor for approval.

Make sure you have completed all sections of your Project Portfolio, answered all questions, provided enough detail as indicated and proofread for spelling and grammar as necessary.
