Task - Students are required to research and create an individual narrated PowerPoint presentation in relation to a substance used socially within the Australian context (some examples are included below); this can be selected from the list below or self selected:

Students will need to submit a transcript in Microsoft Word of their verbal presentation, for text matching purposes.

Within the educative presentation the studentwill need to address the following points:

Define the substance and describe the trends and prevalence of its use in Australia

Describe the physical effects that this substance has on the human body

Describe how the substance can affect the mental health of a person

Discuss the potential social and emotional, financial, and environmental outcomes of the substance on individuals, families, and communities

Highlight a range of health interventions and/or treatment options available for individuals and families experiencing issues with the use of the substance

Also:

Students are not required to show your face throughout your presentation should you choose not to, however, your voice should be clear and legible throughout

Students will be required to speak for at least 20minutes on your chosen topic addressing the above points

A students first slide should act as your front sheet (APA guide) and final slide should include appropriate academic references using APA 7th edition (minimum 10 references, .gov and .org websites are acceptable)

Total presentation time - maximum of 25 minutes (1,500 words equivalent)-(submitted in: Video file - PowerPoint (.mp4 or .mov) and transcript of presentation - Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)).
