Purpose and Context

The supplementary assessment task provides you with the opportunity to revisit the key concepts explored in the subject , and to refine your reflections on this content and resubmit for a pass grade. This task requires you to reflect on the three key domains including in the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APSTs):

Professional Knowledge

Professional Practice

Professional Engagement

Task Outline

This task requires you to develop an essay about your personal understanding of the three domains of the APSTs (noted above). You may use the assignments that you prepared during the course to assist you with this task. Your essay should include the following components:

Introduction (50-100 words)

Personal reflection on what Professional Knowledge is and why it is important (300-400words)

Personal reflection on what Professional Practice is and why it is important (300-400words)

Personal reflection on what Professional Engagement is and why it is important (300-400words)

Conclusion (50-100 words)

Submission requirements

References will be required to support key points and claims.

You may write in first and/or third person.

Prepare your essay using APA 7 referencing and paper format

Your paper should have a separate title page and reference list.

The essay should be double spaced, and you may use subheadings to demarcate different elements of the paper.

Marking Criteria

The following criteria will be used to review your submission:

Personal reflection on what Professional Knowledge (5 marks)

Personal reflection on what Professional Practice (5 marks)

Personal reflection on what Professional Engagement (5 marks)

Academic writing and use of APA referencing style (5 marks)
