For example, the point (3, ?2) would be [3/-2] . Watch, Read and Think 3.3 demonstrates how to translate points using a transformation matrix. You may find it useful to revise Example 1.
- Shift the point (-1, 5) using the transformation matrix [-1/2] .
- Shift the point (4, 20) using the transformation matrix [-1/2] .
- Find the line that connects the two points you found as the answers in Tasks 3.1 and 3.2. Compare this line to the line you found in Task 1.2.
