Social media is changing the nature of relationships

Rational - discuss the nature of relationships

The claim proposed for the investigation is that social media is changing the nature of relationships which suggests the modern use of social media is changing the traditional nature of relationships between two or more people.

Since Facebook was created in 2004, the number of users has grown exponentially to a current estimated number of 845 million users worldwide. This huge number of users and the amount of time they are spending on social networking sites (SNS) such as Facebook (FB) has led to questions about how online use is changing the nature of our real time relationships. Data suggests that adults spend approximately 2 and a half hours a day on Facebook and the data also suggests that the amount of time spent on FB is increasing every year.
